Welcome to the Stutzman Ranch Orchard!

Fruit picking is a fun and enjoyable activity.

Changes from previous years.

1.Bring your own picking buckets!

In the past we have furnished buckets to pick into. Because of the Covid-19 Virus we can no longer furnish to our patrons a re-usable container (like buckets) to pick into.
If you do not bring a bucket we will give you a single use cardboard box to pick into.

2. The hay ride  to the cherry orchard is no more.
Due to the close proximity to each other and Covid concerns, the short fun tractor ride to the orchard had to be canceled.

3. Bring a wagon or tote for carrying in

your picked bounty.

Because there is is no tractor ride to help carry in your picked fruit we suggest a wagon or cart to help in that respect.

Rules of this U-pick operation.

These few rules make the day go better for everyone. This includes the family who wants a great day outdoors picking fruit and the farm owner who has opened their orchard to the public.

1. Pet Policy.
Pets are not allowed into the orchard. We do have a shady area where they may be tied up and wait for their family to get back from picking.

2. U-picked it. You own it.
Patrons will pay for all the fruit they have picked. We can not do anything with the fruit you have picked. Plan accordingly.

3. Do not climb the trees.

4. Sample the fruit in the orchard but don't

stuff yourself.

Before eating the fruit it should be washed. Bird droppings, dust and pesticide residue should be washed from the fruit before eating.

5. Be respectful of the fencing and roped

off areas.

We have a plan. The areas behind the fences and ropes are off limits for a reason. Usually the fruit is not ripe even though it could look ripe. If you want fruit that is not ripe and sweet go to Wal-Mart.

6. Parking on Busy weekends is a challenge.
Please, please, please do not park in our neighbors orchards or block their driveways. When parking along Easy Street do not have any part of your vehicle in the roadway, ie over the white line, tickets may be given or the Sheriff could  have you towed!
There is usually parking in and around our farm buildings over and above what you see available at the fruitstand parking lot.

2024 U-PICK Prices

We have an orchard full of fruit. We want people to pick lots and lots of fruit. There is a minimum U-pick purchase required to enter the Stutzman Ranch orchards.

All persons 12 years and over entering the orchard will be charged the $5.00  U-pick minimum.  A group of four people 12 and over will be expected to pick $20.00 worth of fruit to cover the minimum. But please pick more.

Pick enough fruit each to cover the five dollar minimum. ie.  Aproximately 2 pounds of Rainiers @ $3.50/lb. or about 6 pounds of apples @ $.85/lb for each person age 12 and over. It is really easy to do.

Payment is taken at the end of the orchard visit when the fruit  is weighed. If the fruit picked does not add up to $5.00 per person 12 and over then it's just a straight 5 bucks each.

It is possible to pay the $5 and just go into the orchard and walk in the U-pick area to see the trees and fruit growing. It's worth a fiver if you've never seen these fruits on the trees up close and ripe.

This rule comes from large groups  wandering in our orchard tasting fruit for an extended time  then coming back to the fruit stand with very little fruit to purchase.
We are not a park or an all you can eat fruit buffet. We are a fresh fruit store that happens to have the fruit still attached to the tree.
